Word of warning.

If your mortgage goes according to plan then you won't have any problems. But if your case goes to appeal be prepared to wait for a LONG wait. I am still waiting after I made my appeal over a month ago, even after making so many complaints no one bothers to chase up or get back in contact after so many calls. It smacks of bad customer service.

There article in the times this morning is laughable to say the least.

On another point which I am deeply annoyed about is the fact that in good times those who can't afford a mortgage can easily get hold of one. And when economic times are tough and those who can afford a mortgage, can't get one.

Everyone out there needs to recognise Santander will make many mistakes during the reorganisation. I avoid at all costs. Dealing with small building societies is a million miles apart in service terms - you phone, a knowldgeable UK based Human answers, they find ways around problems, they take ownership of the case, ahhhhh, nice.
