mis-sold endowment

I have tried to claim for being mis-sold my endowment policy but was unsuccessful because it was sold to me by a firm of solicitors. Where solicitors are concerned you just seem to run up against a brick wall. Is there anyone who has been successful with such a claim and could you give me some advice. My circumstances are the same as most people in that l was told that this was the best thing to pay off my mortgage and leave me with a lump sum at the end of it. The solicitor even told me that he would give me a discount on my fees if l took out the endowment with him
