How to word the normal gift list?

I feel a lot of people are tetchy about gift lists and we haven't included anything about a gift in our invites. However lots of people have since asked, so we were going to update our wedding website with a gift list. It's a normal one with the toaster and kettle on as we have diddly squat.

I hate poems, they make me cringe, but want to word it nicely.

"A number of people have asked if we have a wedding gift list. As we are just starting out, we have a few ideas if you were thinking of giving us a gift (insert website), but your presence on the day is the most important thing to us".

Cheesy? Blunt?

Sounds great to me- you're not saying people are forced to buy you a pressie and helps people who are interested.

I like it, you've worded it very well and it's nice to come across someone with a real wedding list! I asked a friend for her wedding list and she just said 'I want cash'... OH went mad and is insisting on buying a present!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Fab wording. It is unassuming and polite and useful. Well done.
