Please help with a loan argument with bank
Options
Hello
can anyone please help with a problem I have had with my bank.
I have come into a little money and wanted to pay my loan off in full , so phoned up and asked for a early settlement figure. After a long conversation I got told an amount and also got told this hold till end of march. A few days Later I phoned up to pay it and they told me that there is nothing on there screen about the last conversation and they will start over again. But this time it was for 3000 more to my absolute shock. They said they would back next day after they listened to the conversation that was luckily recorded. Then they said they were really sorry but it was a trainee that day and he made a mistake. ( surely a trainee should not be able to authorise without permission from a person who can. ) They then went on to say the higher figure was correct.
Sorry to go on but how do I stand with this. After I am trying to pay it all off and they are not helping.
Be great if someone could get back.
Thanks

If they made a mistake, they made a mistake, nothing you can do to change the red figure0

Always ask for a settlement figure in writing with a breakdown of how it has been calculated. The offer is usually for one month ..
did they say that they would confirm the offer in writing?
