I have just had the GI diet news letter and apparently there is a new GI cookbook by Rick Gallop, author of the GI diet. His books are pretty good!;)

I'm really curious about the GI diet, do those of you who use it/have tried it find it any use?
My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

I used it and lost 2 1/2 stone. Would recommend it no end.

GI is Glycaemic Index.....low GI means foods that give out slow energy (like oats) rather than fast release (like sugars)

Could do with trying this....have high cholesterol & familial heart disease (particularly my mum), I need to lose a bit - am moving in with BF soon, so can't see it happening then! :)

Thanks for the posts. Sorry for not responding sooner!

Would definitely recommend the GI diet. It worked for me and I shed by post baby weight no problem. It's the easiest diet I've stuck to....and I don't usually feel hungry.

I am after recipes for low GI food, simple easy quick and cheap. Low GI because it keeps you full for longer, and something i can cook in bulk maybe to keep me filled up at work! Gotta save them pennies everywhere i can to beat my debt busting target dont you knows!

The GI diet is good. I've started to follow it - but I've only got a few recipes so far. Think I need to invest in some more books! I need quick lo GI recipes - I'm a full time working mum of two and I never have the luxury of getting loads of time in the kitchen :-)
