Cheap Software but does anyone know the company?

Options
Recieved an e-mail from this company re cheap software. Seem to be US based as charges in dollars but ships to UK free. There is an admin charge of $7.95 however!!
Software includes MS Office Pro 2003 for $80 and many others. Not sure about ordering from such an unknown site anyone any experience?

    Hi

The prices look to good to be true. I have been looking for Microsoft office for a couple of weeks now, the best I have found is PC World but it is Student and Teacher software.
This is £89 somthing. Will you let me know if you ordered any thing.

    Thanks

  • The replys to this have been lost in the migration.

Please, whatever you do, do not buy from this place.

They are selling you the right to download a copy of the software from them and expect you already to have the license.

If it's too good to be true, read the small print (I remember the about us and FAQ sections of this site telling you what was being sold). If it's still too good to be tru, it is.
  • WH Smith were selling Micrososft Office 2003 Student and Teacher edition for £62.50 + £2.99 p&p. I looked at this offer a few weeks ago so it showed up as "recently viewed" on their web page. I was able to add it to my basket - but I'm not completely confident this offer is still current.

  • Try ebay, some genuine sellers have some bargains, got Norton 2005 Internet Security for £17, unboxed and no manual but who reads it anyway! it is the real deal and came with registration code too.
2p off is still 2p off!

    Rule No. 1 :
    Don't buy from SPAM.
  • If you're after office software then try Open Office from https://www.openoffice.org

It is compatible with MS Office but is FREE. The wp seems about as full featured as Word but most of the other modules lack a few of the features of Excel or Powerpoint. For myself and I guess 99.99% of the population there is nothing missing. Files can be specified as the MS equivalent so, for example, an Impress presentation can be output as an MS Powerpoint file and then presented to an audience using powerpoint. I know, I've done it.

You can download it free or buy a CD for a few quid. There is also good documentation on the site including comparisons of each module with the equivalent MS module to show you how they vary.
    Nice to save.
