Got some big problems!

That I need help with

Firstly, I have a Halifax current account with an agreed £465 overdraft which is maxed out. Now becuase of the new £1 a day bank charges that they have introduced my overdraft has gone over its limit and now they are charging me £5 quid a day. Already my overdraft is at £550 and is rising by £5 a day. I havent got enough money to bring it back down to £465 so I am very worried that with a month or two I will owe thousands.

I have just been made redundant and 2 months ago my partner was also made redundant

What can I do?

Any help would be great:(

well done for asking for help have you spoke to them to see if the could stop the charges due to your circumstances?

i have to say i thought the way halifax were charging was a good idea i mean the costs as i know when my sister went over she was over for about 8 days and cost her over 200 in charges however they told her she would be charge and when it would come out and i had assumed halifax would do this with ie feb charges come out march and so on, had no idea that the charges were applied each day

another thought is there anyone who you could borrow enough to get you back so its at least only £1 per day

but i would talk to halifax and see if something can be done
  • I think i will have to write to them

    Cheers folks

You really need to open a new bank account as a matter of urgency & get your incomings paid in.
Your existing bank then becomes another creditor.
