It's Man U vs Liverpool tomorrow so unless you're in to football you probably won't find much to do and will find the city full of football fans.

I'd recommend going out of Manchester - there's plenty of places not too far away that are good for families such as Poole's Cavern in Buxton, Tatton Park in Knutsford or a bit further out Delamere Forest or the city of Chester. All accessible by car or train, although the Hall at Tatton Park is a fairly long walk from the station.

I went to the Manchester show - it was OK for a free show but if tickets hadn't been free then I don't think it would have been worth it.

Plenty of freebies to pick up though - free pens left, right and centre and from the Brother stand: free gummy bears, highlighter pens, little note paper, little post-it bookmark things and a iPod/mp3 player holder (in a very girly colour.)

Got the tickets for Manchester for this afternoon 1:30-3:30pm - set off from Accrington just before 12:30 to allow enough time to get there.

Got stuck in traffic as they'd closed the A56 - not sure because of an accident or just because of the damned roadworks - sat there for over an hour & even then couldn't get anywhere - decided to give up and go home when we got to the roundabout. Traffic just seemed horrendous everywhere around Haslingden & Accrington. Got home an hour and half later having been nowhere. Would only have got an hour there at best if we'd kept trying

Two gutted boys and one naffed off mum. Four wasted tickets someone else could have used.
