I've just checked the news now after reading this. I wish to God these people would f*** off, no one supports their actions to drag us back to the past apart from a few of their own cronies. Thank God no one was injured or killed. Leaves a sad feeling in your heart though, where will it end?0

its looking more likely everyday that things are going to escalate to unmanagable levels.
they just want the army back for some target practise and to justify what they are doing!
and they want the devolved government (as bad as it is, its too much progress to throw away) to collapse.0 -
I think it may have been left by the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce.... trying to stop the shoppers from flocking to Newry!0

Builders and glaziers must be hoping for a few more to go up as well0

LOL at the glaziers, builders and Dundalk Chamber of Commerce comments. I was in Newry an hour or two ago and there are still plenty of southern reg cars about.
Really though, who the hell wants a return of the bombs, bomb scares and everything else associated. Nothing is worth any more blood shed. It's just an excuse by some to indulge their evil natures. If there was lasting peace and a united Ireland these same people would just find some other excuse. It makes my blood run cold to think that maybe I've looked them in the face while going about my normal business.0 -
While people are too afraid to "give up" the bombers to the authorities this will persist for quite a while IMHO. They appear to have quite a stash of guns and bomb material - wonder how they got that?0

I really cant fathom any mentality that goes along the lines of 'i have an opinion, i cant get support for that opinion through reasoning, therefore i will start blowing things up and killing people until my opinion is accepted'.0

Thankfully those responsible have been condemned by both sides. Hopefully we shan't see any reprisals.0

I dont think there will be, it was dissident republicans blowing up a predominantly nationalist town, and causing 2 days of traffic chaos there.
Cant see the loyalists doing anything other than laughing up their sleeves.0 -
This is what I don't understand. Unless I'm wrong, quite a few alerts recently have been in mainly Nationalist areas. Now I've no idea of percentages and nor do I want to speculate but I'm guessing that there are more Nationalists who want the Army gone than Unionists so when these devices are placed in Nationalist areas, who would defuse them if the Army was gone? As the previous poster said, Loyalists will be pi$$ing themselves laughing that the "other side" are doing their work for them while they sit back.
I could "understand" if these devices were placed say on the Shankill Road where those affected are from the very side of the political divide they dislike so why target their own community?
Reminds me of a guy I knew many years ago. The local Orange brigade decided to blockade a main road near where I used to live in protest at something or other. I asked why on earth are they disrupting their own community? Never got a straight answer so I wonder if the same question were posed to the dissidents what they would say?0
