ALDI Deals Unversal Touch Screen Remote Control £9.99

on those remotes, It's excellent that it has a learning function, which means you can point the original control at it and it learns the function from there. Good becuase some of the codes sometimes might not operate brightness perhaps, because the code stretches over a few models.
The only thing to look out for is how sensitive the touchpad is, I have dealt with a few of these and some would turn the equipment off with the brush of a sleeve and some you would have to press worryingly hard on them.
That said, for the money these things have been, It's well worth a punt for a tenner and I shall pop by at 9.30 on thursday and try to get myself a sweet deal....and some of those sunglasses :cool:0 -
I bought a 7" LCD TV from Aldi (Tevion) about 2 months ago for £79.99 which was a serious bargain. As long as you go to the shop on the original day of the promotion you should find that they will have pleanty of stock. Some of the deals are just unbelievable sometimes. I actually bought these RC's off that eBay seller myself, and they are quite amazing for the price. Unfortuantely the ones i bought did not have a learning function, and i think for a 10er i may just invest in another one from Aldi (with the learning function) as I know this makes the setup up as easy as ABC!0

Well I got one... got the scissors out and cut round the packaging and got the manual out from between the card inserts (stupidly sellotaped in!). It's not a great manual from the cursory reading. Intend to try it soon but know I'll need 1-2hrs (hopefully) to sort it out for the 5 old/obscure/new gizmos in my bedroom : VCR, Hi-Fi, Freeview, LCD TV, DVD.
One point for anyone who's not yet got that far - you're going to need 2 AAA batteries - not included - that's what goes in the 'bulge'!
Remember of course that you've got the 1yr Aldi satisfaction guarantee if it does disappoint you - ie return with your receipt within 1yr and get a refund.0 -
I bought one last thursday, but it went back on the same day. none of my tv, dvd etc were in the manual so i did the learning thing, it worked fine until the red light kept flashing.
I read futher on in the manual and discovered that this meant the remotes memory was full, this was with just 2 remotes programmed. the remote seemed quite responsive to presses but sometimes i ended up pressing two buttons at once.
the previously mentioned 'bulge' looks awful and ruins the style of a quite good looking remote. also the fact that it was a tevion remote i thought it would work great with my medion DVD recorder but it only had only hade one medion code and that was for a TV
Overall i wouldnt reccomend this as an all in one device but if you need a replacement remote for 1 appliance then its ok. also if you have an obscure brand and still have the remote the learning function is quite good if you think you might lose it
Hope this helps0 -
If this Tevion remote is like the last one it will be just about useless !
The learning function was a joke as it learn't nothing, even though it accepted commands from donor remotes.0
