Blair, Oliver & Scott

Options
Hi Guys,

Bit of a query here - I had an account with the Halifax with an overdraft of £1,000 - this was removed by them giving me one months notice and as such accumulated charges so now the total amount outstanding is £1,141.12

I complained to the Halifax about my overdraft charges and explained I was experiencing financial difficulty to which they accepted in a letter.

Further down the line in October 2009 I received a letter from Halifax advising I wouldn't need to make any payments to my account due to my circumstances and the reclaiming of the overdraft charges and that they would contact me again once I needed to start making payments towards my account.

I received nothing since that so decided to phone them last week and was told the debt was transferred to Blair, Oliver & Scott because I hadn't kept up with my payment plan of £200 per month - this is incorrect as I agreed £40 and they even sent me a letter advising the monthly amount of payments needed are £40!!! Also this letter told me I needed to make no payments so as the letter stated I didn’t and assumed they would contact me as they said in their letter.

Blair, Oliver & Scott also told me that Halifax issue a default once the account is transferred across to them - no notice of this either

Does anyone know where I stand here? Any advice of letters would be appreciated

Cheers

    Hi Gar

Blair oliver scott are in house DCAs for halifax bank of scotland (in case you didn't know).

Have you checked your credit report and has there been a default issued? if so and you haven't received it there is a letter to send asking for proof it was sent.
Have blair oliver scott or halifax actually chased you for money recently? if not then wait for them to do so, at that point write back enclosing the letter that show you were told not to make payments until they contacted you again.

If they then ask you to restart payments then you'll need to come to some arrangement with them.
