Buying ex out of mortgage

I am in the process of buying my ex out of the house. I have also come to the end of my tie in with current mortgage provider. I am going to move to another lender but my current lender said that whichever way I do it I have to pay a charge and go through a seperate process to remove my ex from the mortgage and the deeds.

Any advice ... whats the best way of doing this?
