Well, if you're being pedantic it's actually 5:4 not 4:3.

I want to upgrade to a 19inch TFT. Can someone please advise me, why should I go for a Widescreen monitor? Will I still be able to see a document in full on the screen? (Sorry if this seems a daft question!)

I don't like widescreen for my PC. With my current 17" monitor it's at 1280 x 1024. I don't fancy dropping down from 1280 height to 900. It might be ok to watch DVD's on, but I've got a TV to do that on.

Its not a daft question if you intend to watch movies on the pc then widescreen may be a good choice. I have a widescreen laptop for work and i personally think its not worth the bother but that's just me.
