I am desperatly trying to come up with ideas for the same thing i.e. a good friend's 40th. Also female. My budget is 20quid.

    Dismissed ideas so far:
voucher for massage (other friend is getting her this),
a hamper of 40 things (I couldn't think of 40 things that can in on budget!),
something for her hobby (horses) as everything is too expensive or she already has it!

Hope those ideas are useful to you and if someone can come up with something for me .... i'd be very grateful ;)

How about making her a survival kit? These can be as cheap or as expensive as you want? I have made several basic ones like this on my blog but you can also add other things like tenalady and stuff like that! I guess it depends though on if she has a sense of humour or not

What about an engraved champagne glass, and with what's left over get a bottle to go with it and you can write on the bottle with a glass marker to personalise that as well ;)

I have searched on "towel pamper cake" and oh WOW what a great idea.:T
Gonna be doing that for my friend.

Savvy - I love the idea of engraved bubbly glass but my friend doesn't like champers (she's a nightmare, LOL)
