Mercedes Car Finance

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help, have been a bit behind on my car finance for mercedes due to them not being able to set up a D/D so I have been paying by internet banking, I spoke to a girl there on the 12th Feburary, she told me I owed 3 months rent and that a default notice is bing prepared, I told her that I will pay the 3 months the following week, which I did, I have now been told that it was too late, they say I curent owe £275 and they are not prepared to resolve the matter even though I offered to pay 3 motnhs infront. They now want to collect the car and I will have to pay £12k in "resonable costs" aswell as giving the car back, thing is if I continued to pay the Car Hire on the car for the rest of the term it is less than £12k. Can they do this ? Is there anything I can do ?
