Personal Credit Check / Fraud Protection

I got a letter from nationwide while i was abroad, saying that theres been odd activity on my account, which they are investigating. It transpires that someone has a penchant for lingerie shopping online and tescos shopping instore.
While not as huge as alot of fraud cases (£600), its still kicked me into touch on security - regardless of whether the bank will refund my money.
My main problem is that it was on a card i very rarely use and i have never used in a restaurant/store other than large companies (looking at my account history, PC World, Dixons, Comet and a few paypal payments are the only payments in recent months) which scares me into thinking that it may well be someone i know who has defrauded me or im exremely unlucky.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good, cheap (free?) way of checking if anyone has taken any loans out under my name or even just to check what loans i have outstanding (i shouldnt have any other than my credit card - which ive checked for fraud)
Also, information on anti-fraud insurance. It seems extremely expensive for what it is - and is it even worth it?
I know this probably isnt even the correct forum to post to, but i couldnt see any more suitable.
Thanks in advance,
Toe

You need to check your credit files with Experian, Equifax and Callcredit. This will show every financial account linked to your name, plus all searches and attempts to obtain credit.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
