  • Can't believe M&S score so highly.
Undies from there are rubbish, they don't fit blokes properly ( even Primark and Matalan fit better, and wear better ( ie last longer )).

I'd go for Tesco/Morrisons/ASDA everytime as with that level of discount I could do a months shop and the get a BIG TV effectively for about £50.

Of course I'd have to be Carefull to use it at the right time as well, IE just before Christmas when I normally do a BIG shop then I could save more which means I could spend more.
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )
  • I went for Monsoon. Was slightly miffed to find, when I saw the stats once I'd posted, that it is currently in 2nd place behind Tesco!

Can't stand Tesco anyway, but I'd much rather have a voucher for 40% off somewhere like Monsoon than a supermarket. partly because 40% means so much more in Monsoon because of the price of the clothes to start with, but also because I feel that a voucher for somewhere like Monsoon would allow people to treat themselves, whereas a Tesco voucher would just knock a few quid off the weekly shop. Boring!

And yes, before anyone else points out, I am aware that for people in a dire financial situation the Tesco voucher is so much more useful. Maybe we need to be able to gauge the average financial profile of MSEers before we can make a decision as to which voucher could be put to most use? If the majority of MSEers are in a precarious financial way, Tesco is the good one, whereas if the majority are managing financially but like a bargain, something more treat-orientated would be better? Wasn't one of the recent polls about savings vs debt? That would help!

  • For me it'd be M&S as my first choice. Because that means nice food AND nice pants!! :D Or Tesco...cos then I could get my favourite Grey Goose vodka at a hefty discount as well as various other household bits I'd love.

Have you tried Belvedere or 42below?

Belvedere is about the same price as Goose and I prefer it and 42below is as nice (great served out the freezer with a wedge of lime) and is cheaper (still not cheap but cheaper)

Tesco's own brand vodka (imperial not the value one) tastes as good as Smirnoff to me.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.

I would NEVER buy anything at Full Price from Monsoon - their mark ups are huge, saying that I do like the fit of their clothes, but I'm very lucky to have an extremely nice friend there who gets a massive 75% staff discount.

For me I would would go for Asda and get the big shop plus a nice new shiny tv

In all honesty, I suspect not many people who are saying M&S are thinking about in mens' pants terms.*

    * That is just my opinion based on other responses to the thread and my own perceptions of the typical M&S shopper - for all I know there could be loads of people seeing it that way and I'm in the minority...
