Eaga Showersmart?

I have just got Oh to install the FREE Eaga Showersmart, has enyone else got one? I ordered it before Christmas and it arived today.
We fitted it to a power shower. I belive it will slow the water rate down to 7.7 litres per minute, thus using less hot water from our gas heated tank.
The leaflet says I should save £30 each on both gas and water bills for a 4 person house.
So I now await the shouts of less water from the shower and a £30 drop in gas bill, I am not on a water meter.
Would I be right in thinking... my hotwater heats up from 6 - 9pm for showers and washing up for xxx amount. By using the shower smart I would still be useing xxx amount of gas the same but as the shower now flows with less water the hot water can now last longer untill used up?

If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

That is what I think will happen.
Of course, if your presure was low already, then you may not have been getting even 7.7 litres a minute, if that is the case you will see no difference.
By the way, anyone getting one of these, check if you can do so via a cashback site, the next time the offer comes around again.
That way you get 50 pence (say) for getting it as well.0 -
Thank you for your reply. Anyone can apply for one at www.eaga.com/showersmart

Before you get too excited about how good this products is, use the search facility to read a few of the many horrors that people have experienced with this. (I would normally post a link, but I'm on my ipod touch, not my laptop)
In a nutshell, they can break electric showers (its still trying to force x litres of water through the pipe, which can now only take 80/90% of x). It may not break on day 1, or 2, but its life will be reduced.
So they only work on non-electric showers (which yours sounds like it is), but others have experienced problems where they have forced joints open and so on, on non-electric showers.
Also, a quick google search will let you know a few more bits n pieces (almost all negative).
Hope you don't think I'm interfering, just wouldn't want you to burn out a £500+ shower to save a few quid a year. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer.

Hiya, the leaflet does clearly say - Do not use the eaga shower smart with electric showers, showers with multiple jets or rain showers.
The device can be used with power showers which use mains hot water ~(like mine).
The device has now been fitted to my shower for 24 hours and the outcry is " it is like a shower on holiday with less water and power" DD wants it off NOW! I had a shower and found it ok but would put up with less water per minute to save the hot water for another person.
DD said it now takes twice as long to wash her hair as rinsing the shampoo off takes longer - I replied she should then use less shampoo!
I said we should try it for a week and see.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

We got used to ours quite quickly - perhaps give DD the choice of leaving the Showersmart in place OR turn the water off whilst soaping and shampooing up and using a leave-on conditioner OR contributing to your electric bill?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Next best thing is shower timer.. 4 mins is all you need for a shower.. Also dont forget a power shower can fill a bath in 10 mins. I bet DD is they for a good 30 min.0 -

The leaflet may well say that - I can't remember. What I do remember from when mine arrived is that the maths (using their own figures) didn't back up the total saving statement.
Received mine about the middle of last year, I think, but did not fit as was not convinced by the claims when read them and also concerned at the stories about problems with the actual affect on already installed fittings. A month or so ago I recall getting an email asking whether I had fitted it and what I thought of it. I responded negatively.
It's a big waste of tax-payers' money IMHO.0
