Consent to Rent - C&G / Lloyds

Hi - does anybody know the policy of C&G or presumably their ultimate parent Lloyds on allowing short term consent to rent?
Situation is - mortgage started in August 2005, 3 year fixed, been on SVR ever since. All payments 100% up to date - repayment mortgage. No arrears at all.
Reason being we need to move away and interest in buying the house is low at the minute so a short term rental seems the best option.
Am planning to go in and see them but just want to have some prior knowledge of what to expect.

The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

Why not just call them and ask? You'll soon get an answer, sounds like your LTV will be fine and it should be granted.0

Hi,
We're in a similar situation and went in to C&G to ask. All you have to do is fill in a form and pay £225 and you can have consent to rent. The only thing that will stop them allowing you to do this is if you have not been paying on time - sounds as if you won't have to worry about that.
Hope that helps!0 -
not the only thing..............ltv may also be an issue...0

I did a similar thing 12 months ago, although i was 2 years into my 3 year fixed rate, this transferred over to SVR in January and nothing has been mentioned so far.
It cost me a phone call and £225.
As Vigilant22 mentions above, LTV maybe an issue. As you are now out of your fixed term they might try to move you to a specific BTL product. Bit cynical at the moment as my recent dealings with C & G haven't been great.
Best option is to speak to them direct.MortgageMay 2014 - £255,000.00Jan 2015 - £251.589.00O/P To Date £194.040 -
Oh - sorry, I didn't think of LTV because though our LTV is 100% we are still on a fixed deal. I've had my fair share of strange dealings with C&G, too, but I think you're lucky in that they are quite flexible compared to other lenders on this issue. Anyway, just go in and talk to the bank manager. Our branch manager is a real dope but he knew all about this and could advise very easily.0
