Yup, it's pretty much a giant grapefruit. We eat them in the same way as we do grapefruits.
Have you tried an Ugli? Apparently they're just like grapefruit too but uglier!0 -
They sell these in Lidl so got one a while ago they are a citrus fruit - very refreshing (quite a lot of skin) - think they come from China. We all really enjoyed it.

UGLI® fruits are named after their appearance which is generally discolored, marked skin and odd-shaped. However, it does not deserve its name; it really has a very sweet, citrus taste, is peeled easily and is seedless, making it a great snack or addition to salads. The outside is a greenish-yellow color and has an uneven bumpy shape. UGLI® fruits are native to Jamaica and have been propagated in the United States since the 1930s. They are said to combine the best qualities of tangerines, grapefruit and Seville oranges. Children love the taste and their intriguing name.
Storage, Selection and Preparation
Choose fruits that are heavy and have no sign of drying at the ends. The fruit should give with slight pressure much like grapefruit. Color is not important when choosing, and marks and small dents are normal. UGLI®s can be kept at room temperature for about 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. UGLI®s should not be cooked or it will lose flavor.

Will look forward to tomorrow morning.0

Lidl had these at £1.45 or 2 for £2. They are massive, not sour but not as sweet as ruby grapefruit. They peel very easily and I can quickly remove the peel and the pith and skin of the segments. I still have one left a week later.:j0

I spent £1.50 , peeled and half is sitting in the fridge , the other half in kitchen for morning.0

Don't eat any of the pith/internal skin, just the flesh. Mmm"It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0

Well I tried the pomelo this morning , bit 'dryer' than I had expected.
But at £1.50 , could have got 5 standard grapefruit instead.
But I can say I have tried one ....... once:D0
