  • I'd rather get my kicks from playing with my rescue Greyhound - rather than helping to fund a 'sport' where a hell of a lot of dogs are killed because they can't run fast enough or happen to get injured trying!
  • First chickens, now greyhounds, I feel like starting a thread about bargains on a Proctor and Gamble product(Pringle anyone?) so I can light a torch paper and waltz off :rotfl:

Anyone who has one eye open knows full well that they should eat non GMO, Organic, free range food, produced locally or at least by an ethical company who does not put mothers in poverty/test on animals/relocate their workforce abroad and they should spend free time doing voluntary work with little abused kitties;)

Although a raving hippy, I would not post my hippy views as I know damn well that firstly people do know these things and secondly that a bargain forum is not the place for it.

If people want to eat 50p chickens and pringles for dinner, wash up with fairy liquid and then put bubba to bed with nestle before cracking open a dairy milk, then leave them be :)

I hate what happens to greyhounds, but I do enjoy going to the dogs, you can always donate any winnings to a greyhound charity :)
  • thanks to OP, just booked for OH's birthday in march - great find thanks again:j
  • How can you put a dogs life on a bargain thread?

    - the one's who make it into rescues are the lucky ones. The way most of these dogs are just discarded/abandoned is appaulling if they dont make the grade or look back during a race.

Donate your winnings? what a load of tosh, don't support the industry in the first place.

Well you know the magic of the MSE forums is anyone can have an opinion and provided they are polite there is no reason why they shouldn't express their opinion just as you have done on a bargain forum.

So yes, leave them be ;)
  • Im with the greyhounds here.... Sorry to say but the industury has a lot to answer for as far as the welfare of greyhounds goes. My money saving tip would be... Dont go and Dont gamble on the dogs or horses :)
  • Many thanks for the info , I have book to go
What I can't understand is why every man and his dog jump on the band wagon with their own personal views
I feel that lindsaypowell took the time and effort to input the info and if you dont like the post that is your problem

Funny how its new posters that chip in to complain about the dog racing.

I'm with Itsallinthemind on this one, I cant say I particularly aprove of the way some of the dogs are treated, but love going to the dogs and think its a great night out.

    Thanks for the OP!

I can remember going for a penny when they did the promotion last year (the penny entrance included food too!) we got there a little late and the guy on the door said there was no food left, I asked if I could get a discount (being a true MSEr)

The guy wasnt amused (miserable !!!!!!)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    This comment says it all.

The original poster probably didn't know about the way some racing greyhounds are treated. But in Britain, with the lack of respect shown for racing dogs, it is a sport that any informed and thinking person would avoid.
  • There is good and bad in every sport. I speak from experience and the bad is within the flapping traps not the tracks listed above.
Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
