Table names

Hi!

We're getting married in a castle and will be decorating our breakfast venue with mediaeval-esque things (like banner, bunting, ivy etc). We want to have table names as opposed to numbers but cannot decide on what the table names should be!

We though of having castle names i.e. Warwick castle etc, and also thought of perhaps having the names of King Arthurs nights (though not really too keen on this idea).

Any other suggestions would be great!

The round table (as top table), lancelot, arthur, guinevere, merlin, jester, lady in the lake, excalibur, camelot, gawain etc...

I only found them by googling, so no idea if they are apt or not!

We are struggling with table names but im sure we'll figure it out nearer the date.

I just had the idea of using our top 10 websites visited by our PC:
MSE, Quidco, Natwest, Facebook, Hotmail, World of Warcraft, Google, Ebay, Love honeyz, Youtube and the top table will be called P.O.F (plenty of fish) the site where we met.

  • How many tables are there going to be? That could be a factor if you want a theme.

The queens of the times had very romantic names: Isabella of France, Eleanor of Castile, Matilda of Flanders etc. Or Royal couples? Medieval is such a long timespan (William I to Henry VIII - though Henry might not be suitable unless your guests appreciate black humour).

Or a Shakespeare play about medieval times (i.e., Richard III) and use character names from that, or several plays of that time.

Also like your idea about castles. There are some very romantic sounding ones. Big list here: http://www.britainexpress.com/Where_to_go_in_Britain/castles/castles1.htm#A

What about important nobles/families of the times? Like Neville, De Montfort, Percy or DeSpenser?

Probably most of these aren't usable, but medieval is such a long time frame that you'll be spoilt for choice. Have a Google of medieval Britain and you might see something that grabs you. Best wishes for your big day.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.
