CEX pricing

Is CEX pricing listed on the CEX.co.uk sell section, around the same price you can expect to get when going into an actual store?

Comments

  • For alot of items it is actually alot worse than other shops. I checked last week and COD2 for the PC was £39 still, across the road in game it was £29. Even second hand games does not seem to reduce the cost alot of the time. I found CEX is ok to sell stuff to if you are desperate but buying is a no no.
  • I've always found it to be the same as I get in-store (at the Birmingham city centre one). But you might want to give them a call to check in your local branch first, just in case there is an element of discretion.

For newer releases it seems so. Often you can beat their price at other stores or online and get it brand new rather than second-hand, or even if the CEX 2nd-hand one is cheaper the difference is often too marginal compared to brand-new elsewhere. Which is really dissapointing as they used to be great all-round. However they can still be good for finding OK deals on older or rarer games that you can only get second-hand, with a better 12 month guarantee/returns policy than getting the same stuff off eBay.
