Hi all
OK, we've been through the use by date theories, so what about freezing stuff? I notice that if you buy "fresh" prepacked meat at the supermarket it says suitable for home freezing, and usually use within one month. I've got some stewing steak in my freezer that has been there getting on for a year (slapped wrist accepted with good grace
) would it be OK to use?

Now here's where it's getting trickier. I think, and it is only think, that what will have suffered is the taste and texture, but i think it should be ok. Mind I'd be very careful with the thawing and would cook it as soon as thawed.
But don't rely on me, I'm sure there'll be other opinions along shortly.
Have to say it's not a problem I've personally had.You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
