How Do I Decide?

OK, this is probably being a bit mean, but I have to ask.....
You work from home. Why does that mean you need a good TV, phone and broadband package, when you also have a mobile and a dongle for work too? What do you use the dongle for, and how much does that cost you separately?
I have an office with 20 people running off 8mbps of broadband, which is the lowest on Virgin Media. You don't need more than that. You don't need anything except the freeview channels on the TV....
Sorry, I know that it's tough to find things you don't need when you are used to having them.
Good luck xSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Hi Everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've written - Have been plagued with health problems.
You're right, I don't NEED all the TV Channels, I guess it's because I spend all day indoors I just appreciate having the extra channels to watch (I work on the Phones so watch TV in between phone calls)...but I HAVE changed my Virgin Media package to make it cheaper for me.
With regards to the 2 Mobiles and the Dongle - I do work outside of home on a Weekend, but still for myself and therefore I need the Dongle to stay in touch with my Work and my Email. One mobile is for personal use and I have that on a low package and the other mobile is for business and I have that on a really low package as well. All of them are on 18 month contracts so can't be changed at the moment, but when my Dongle is up I might well cancel that one as it will save me about £30 per month, should be about another 6 months on that one.
I have written all the Letters to my Creditors and am putting in a £1 postal order with all of them as I don't have a Cheque Book to send in my Token Payment for this month. I have also offered them all a reduced Monthly amount and asked for a Standing Order form for all of them.
One Question - What do I do if they come back to me and say "No we won't accept your monthly offer". I can't afford more than what I have offered them, they have to accept it or they won't get anything at all...But I guess I can just wait and see on that one.
Thank you for everyone's advice. I am VERY serious about changing my Financial Lifestyle, I don't want to be in Debt forever, just need this Year to get myself back on track and also get myself healthy. I am confident that next Year I can increase my Payments to my Debtors and pay all my Debts off more quickly.
Thanks again Everyone.0 -
hi helen welcome back
well done on what youve done so far i dont know what you do if creditors dont accept but i do believe its best to keep sending them the payments you can afford as if they do take you to court you can prove that at least youve been trying to pay and i think courts prefer this
did you include your soa with you letter to creditors (i think they like to see exactly what you have availible to pay and what your paying everyone) because i still have my concerns at what they will think about you paying larger amounts to you mum, ex and Provident it maybe good to get some advice from one of the debt charities about this
hopefully they will just all accept
well done again on starting everything off good luck0 -
Hi Again Everyone, I did include my SOA...so hopefully they will see that I only have so much to pay them and see that I'm trying to portion it all out fairly to all of them.
My Psychotherapy Course I'm on currently is the Foundation Year and that is until the end of this Year when I will then start the Diploma Course and that is 4 years. However, I'm desperately trying to work this Year so that I can save up enough money for my first Year of the Diploma Course ahead of time if I can.
No, there is no money for Supervision as we are not yet allowed to see Paying Clients, or any Clients actually...so therefore we do not need Supervision.
I know it seems like a lot of money but once I get into my Second Year of the Diploma I can start to see Paying Clients which will supplement my Income enormously...which will help a lot...and ultimately the Qualification will mean I have a proper career as opposed to what I do now...
So, fingers crossed that my Creditors will accept the Offers...otherwise I don't know quite what to do.
Thank you again everyone for what you've written, and don't worry I haven't taken anything personally...sometimes I need a kick up the bottom!!

Hiya DreamHelen, Re drop Provident payments.
My Provident agent, last year, let me pay half payments. she didn't have a choice it was all I. Head office sent letters but agent told me to leave it and she would explain. I stayed on half payment until they were finished. But as my user name explains.......neverlearn t and got two more out when they were finished. So tell them thats all you can pay........as many on here say.......they cant have what you ain't got.
