Hi blaque angel there is an auction site called wi-cycle it, it's totally free to list items and there are no fees at all :j
It's quite new,
so obv it's not very busy at the moment but the more people that know about it the better!
I've just sold my first item, and I also bought a DVD for £1 so it does work!
Also, people have to put fair prices for p&p so you won't get ripped off like you often do on ebay, take a look here:
WiCycle-It
Hope that helps

The next biggest site is probably ebid:
http://uk.ebid.net/
Unfortunately though virtually all the bidders stick to ebay so if you want to sell you are rather stuck with ebay.
There is an ebid thread here though with a few regular users popping in and out when they see a new post:

Not sure what you mean, are you saying that I'm a founder member?
Or that by joining now someone could be a founder member?
It's not my site, it's run by Wikaniko. To help people recycle stuff instead of throwing it away.
I joined as a distributor a couple of weeks ago, and think wicycle-it is a great idea

I notice in their FAQs they recomend paypal and collect +. You lose all paypal seller protection if you use collect +. They don't allow business's either so I doubt they will get the same amount of customers as ebay.
Free listing isn't the panacia everyone thinks because if you get lower prices than you would of you wont be making as much money.
Its very difficult for any site to compete with ebay due to the visibility and customer bases. Niche selling sites are going to be the only ones to compete IMO0 -

I was merely pointing out how few members there were. So instead of several million potential buyers registered on ebay you have a potential buying pool of 283 people.
Also, my usual question needs to be asked here, why would anyone bother with that site in preference to ebid?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Good point, that's why I'm trying to spread the word
It's more about the recycling aspect than trying to make a business out of it.
I think if you've got a few things lying around that would only sell for £1-2 then by the time you've paid the fees on ebay it wouldn't really be worth it.
With wicycle-it you've got nothing to lose really, better than chucking stuff away!
