Hello Guys,
Here i am again, Sunday morning, coffee in one hand, calculater in another
I have been umming and ahhing for months about a DMP and its the only way for me... I think...
The problem i have is my OH is self employed and he has a business bank with Abbey... I have a loan and CC with Abbey (in my name only) that will be included with the DMP, my question is will Abbey go after him for my debt ??
Also, my OH is not going to be part of the DMP as all the debt is in my name, because we are married does this make any difference ??
Thanks guys :j

So long as he is not listed as an account holder (which you say he isn't), it won't be a problem. Only if the card was a joint account could he be held liable for the full amount.
However if you have any joint accounts it makes you linked financially, so when you go into the DMP and default you will affect his credit score as well.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Hi there...i too am in a similar situation to you...my hubby is self employed and banks with Abbey for his business. He also has a credit card debt with them and we are on a DMP with Payplan...our experience is that they dont take the money out of his business account....dont know whether they havnt noticed as it has his business name as well as his personal name on but as of yet, ive paid money in and they havnt taken any
My advice is to do as i did and pay a little bit in like i did and take it from there cos if they were going to take it they would take whatever was in there even if its only £100, so just give it a try0 -
My appointment with CCCS is in 40 minutes but when I rang to make the appointment I told them I was self employed.
Nearly sure the guy said if you have a business account they can't touch anything in it.
Will tell you more after the appointment.
