I wonder if adsence will suffer as more and more people block ads? Adblockplus is pretty much "must have" for anyone running a slower PC, such as myself.0

Hi there, adsense can be great for making money online but dont expect to make huge amounts unless your blog explodes and takes off in a big way.
It is worth adding adsense to your blog its very easy to do in the template setup.
I had a guild gaming forum and have 5000 hits a month on it, make about $5 a month from the adsense ads there, it covered the hosting costs etc..
There are other ways to make money from blogs though

I make roughly $30 a month on my website with adsense. I also use Chitika for the US and Canada visitors as you can run this at the same time as Adsense. The ads from chitika aren't displayed to UK users.0

I use Adsense on a fansite which I run (for a British actor) - it makes approx £8-£9 a month, based on average visitors of 140-160uniques per day.
However, I am paying £7 a month hosting fees (plus domain renewals) so don't actually 'make' anything from it.
Plus with UK adsense, you have to reach a minimum of £60 before payout. I'm currently on about £41 (already had a payout of £60, before which I didn't have ads).
So it depends on what you're after from it really!0 -
Can you expand on what you say about other ways to make money from blogs please.
Cheers

Since I joined in 2003, we have always had to wait for $100 (roughly £60) before being paid out.
It used to be the case that they also paid out whatever you had at the end of the year, even when it was under the $100. It looks as if they have changed that as I cannot find the old terms anymore. If they have a cancellation threshold now, then it looks like they have decided it was not worth "being kind" to publishers with tiny amounts, presumably it cost too much sending cheques out for $1, which I totally sympathise with.
"According to our Terms and Conditions, active accounts need to reach the payment threshold in order to qualify for a payment. Cancelled accounts, however, can be paid out if their unpaid earnings are greater than the cancellation threshold. Since we don't ever issue payments for less than this threshold, we don't allow publishers to select a form of payment until their earnings have reached this amount. "
To see the cancellation threshold for your currency, see https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=139719
I cannot test if the end-of-year payment happens anymore as I exceed the threshold too many times in a year and got paid for December already.
If anyone know if this end-of-year-whatever-amount payment does happen still, let us know, and also where the information is hiding in the Help section on Adsense.0 -
I've got adsense on a blog. Earn about £20/month from it. The way I look at it, every 3 months (£60 payout threshold) I get my Sky and mobile phone paid for by Google for the payout month.
