  • when i went on maternity leave, i wasn't sure i would return, so i asked them not to pay me over and above the statutory maternity pay (which is half salary for 9mths) to avoid having to pay it back if i did not return.

But as we are in so much debt i will have to go back and therefore can ring them and ask them to start paying it to me. Can't believe i didn't think this before!

I am going to straighten up all my budget and credit card payments, so tha it is all totally clear and then ask your guys advice.

I've done a lot of reading up on the selling of the house situation, and i'm beginning to think we should avoid it if possible as it won't be easy to get a decent mortgage and currently we have a good deal.

With my maternity pay i think we are going to try and stick at just reducing these debts as much as we can. Thank you all and will be back for more advice!

    Halifax £6173 int. rate 20.95 1% 9100

    Virgin £9424 0%until Aug 10 £25 10000

    Virgin £3847 6.75% £28 4100

Would very much appreciate advise on what to do with these! Am thinking of transferring some of FD's to the Barclay card. And will try and apply for some 0%'s but not confident.

    Any suggestions welcome..........................
