Limited options for upping my income

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a little help here. I need to earn £4000 by the end of the year.

However I can't really just get a second job because I do 14 hour days (including traveling) and at weekends have to do on call.

Therefore I am looking for ideas for jobs. Evening and weekends are out the question as I have to work.

My specialisms are system administration and large scale system management and configuration (ie hundreds of servers per site, multiple sites) Unfortunatly, its a quite specific skill that has no equivalent in normal desktop/non commercial IT.

However I do enjoy repairing things and will give anything a go. I suppose the easiest would be to get a better paid job.

Any ideas welcome!

Have you tried joining freelance sites like peopleperhour, elance or odesk? They have a wide range of jobs from different fields and categories. And you get to work at home, no need to travel and most of the time, you can choose the time when you can work. You might wanna check it out. :)

Instead of looking for jobs and more ways to make money (working 14 hour days is plenty enough for anyone), how about thinking about what you currently spend and ways to cut your spending ?
  • Don't want to be a thread hijacker, but just wanted to say that Mr.Mulla's suggestion of peopleperhour sounded like the sort of thing I could do too, so I have now signed up, thank you! Good luck :)

    Hiya,

Thank you for the info. I did check out elance etc. I will try it out. Thinking about it though, it woul really really be a better idea to get a more local job. Even if I dropped wages a little, I could do a part time job within the hours I used to spend traveling!

    Regards
