Many thanks for posting these comps, thought i would give it a go after getting jealous over all your wins! I do however have a couple of questions,
1. If i thank a thread, will this be a indication that i have entered the comp previously and to not do it again? :T
2. What's the big deal with saying Thanks in an actual post (therefore bumping) ?
3. WEM's, do they normally have "winner" in the title or do you have to read every imaginable email?
Thanks folks
:j
P.S totally loving these little images :A

Thanking a thread is the best way to keep track of what you have entered.
Saying thanks in the post, bumping, normally not necessary but useful near the end of the comp because it brings it back to the top of the comp pages and brings it to the attention of others.
As for winning emails, they often have something like winner or congratulations on the heading, but it is best to check all emails that are not obviously spam - and check your spam folder for them too!!
The best tip is to totally forget about what you have entered (hence the thanks) and not get too down if wins do not start rolling in immediately - the only thing it is costing you is time, and it does your spirits no end of good if you do win!!
Good luck! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

1, The thanks button is great-it reminds you that you have looked at it/entered it (I still thank even if I decide not to enter)- it also thanks the person so the number of thanks goes against their name.
2, If you write something along the lines of 'Thanks for this my daughter loves JLS' etc etc then it goes right to the top of the thread and can you imagine if we all did that?? We would have the longest most boring threads ever and stuff like that can go on the discussions thread or the compers inn.
3, All my WEM have been subjected with 'Congratulations' or 'Winner' or Re: Theatre comp. However some people have had some less obvious titles.
Hope that helps xxSince starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

For the WEMs I would set filters on your email account.I've set mine to spot any with certain key words eg winner, congratulations, prize. It's not foolproof but just another tool.
Set up a seperate email just for comping.Gmail is good for this as it spots spam quite proficently.
Register with TPS to slow down junk calls.
I even have a seperate PAYG phone just for comping.
Re thanking by posting, this can be a little controversial. If you post your thanks it clogs the board up but it can also allow people to enter twice if they are not careful.Just clicking thanks is more than enough. If you really want to show appreciation you could always click the "like" button,if you have it.I also subscribe to each comp that I enter so I can spot the bumped posts easier.Everyone comps in different ways though & no way is perfect.Best to do what suits yourself.
 Good luck0
