I mean I would understand if I had been working there for some time and had a crisis, but when I am coming fresh in as a new starter in what is a mentally challenging job I just couldnt see them doing that - and I would feel extremely uncomfortable and cheeky asking them that.

Is that strrange?

Your problem is that without an employment history and outstanding ccj, nobody is going to be prepared to make you an unsecured loan for any sensible rate of interest.

Thanks for the GL rafter, without going into details let me just assure you that my parents going that is a complete non option!

I really hope I'm not soundy whiney on here.....but as you can imagine its important to me! I'm going to speak to my temping job and see if I can pull some double shifts or something, or at least weekend overtime.
