littlesnuggy wrote:It is likely that they have charged you £4.99 if you put in your card details - this happened to me when I used the freebie code for Vertbaudet (part of Empire), and I had to ring & email them to get the money refunded - they will probably need your card details again as they don't retain them, or will send you a cheque. Make sure you check your bank statement though, as they probably have charged you :rolleyes2
I ordered a top from Empire with one of the freebie codes. When it arrived (probably about 2 weeks ago) there was no charge, but yesterday I received a bill saying I owe them £3.49.
Unfortunately I threw away all the paperwork and catalogue they had sent last week - it's gone and I haven't even kept the confirmation email (stupid me I suppose!). I tried to log in today with my customer number on the statement and it's saying that isn't recognised!
I can't find the original post with the code either - it was probably 3 -4 weeks ago.
Can anyone advise please? Or point me to the original post with the code in? It was for up to £5 order = freebie.
If it comes down to it I will pay the £3.49 but it's really not the point as it was supposed to be a free offer. I am prepared to argue with them but I have been stupid enough to get rid of all the supporting paperwork.0 -
Having the same argument with Empire now. As I've said previously, if they won't budge, tell your c/card company and make it clear it was an unauthorised transaction.0

Thanks for your advice, I think I'll check the 'Vent' board too to see if anyone else is having the same experience.
