HM letter of distraint

We have received a letter of distraint from HM revenue we owe income tax, we have managed to pay some and notified them that business has been affected by the recession and will start to pay back rest when business picks up, the business can be seasonal too. Just wondered if anyone has had experience of this and what we can do. Obviously if we had the money we would pay it all back, we dont, we can rustle up something but not all. Any constructive advice would be most appreciated.
