Wanttobefree Diary

Good Morning Everyone

I have been reading this site for a few months now and have managed to cut back on a lot of things and have been succeeding on not increasing my debts, the first time in a number of years. This last month though I have been sliding a little and I think it is time that I started to do something about it. My amount of debt is small compared to a number of the people on this site but it is staring to affect me in other ways. I have 2 children and I feel that they are missing out on a lot of things due to me saying no all the time when they want to do things. I know that there are a lot of things to do for free, picnics etc but I am running out of ideas of where to take them.

I am hoping that this diary will help me to keep focused and hopefully pick up more tips on the way. I shall start to set myself targets each week, personally and financially.

Ok first lot of targets.

1 Have at least 2 no spend days.
2 list 3 items on ebay
3 Aim to lose 1 - 2 lb in weight
4 Do 3 sessions of exercise

Have a good day every one and thank you for reading.

Welcome and good luck with the diary !!!

I am a single mother and have had to adapt to finding things to do with my son that don't cost the earth - at first I found it hard to come up with new ideas, but look at websites such as netmums and mumsnet and there are loads of ideas ....

This weekend I took my son to the Nickoloden Jr Jump up event (a free fun day for 2-6 year olds) - the tickets were given out free on the website, and my son said he had a much better time than when he went to Legoland and Chessington with his dad. ;)

It cost me £2 for travel and I took a packed lunch and we had a lovely day!!

  • Morning everyone.

Thanks to Lynz, Scottish, Molanole & benbenandme for making me feel welcome.

Yesterday I had a fantastic day I had my first no spend day and also made £8.60 on ebay:j

I am hoping for a no spend day today, if I can manage that I have reached one of my targets already. I am also aiming for my first exercise session of the week. I find this easier to do on a tuesday as I can do it while watching Holby City and it takes my mind of the exercising.

Hope everyone has a good day and enjoy the sunshine :j

Hope everyone had a better night sleep than I did. I have booked the day off and intending to do some jobs around the house which I have been slacking off on doing (I'm not sure they will get done though with the heat!!)

Yesterday I managed a no spend day so I have reached a target already :j
Today should only be £3.00 spend for d2 bear hunt trip on Saturday and that should be it. I did my first exercise session last night, now as I am off today and if I do loads of housework can I class that as my second exercise session mmmmmmmmmmm :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day today, I shall be back later.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know how to save threads? I am finding it difficult to keep up with some of them as I have to go searching for them, is there a way of keeping track of them easier?

  • Morning all.

I heard some bad news last night, my close friend had been fighting cervical cancer for the last seven months and lost her fight Tuesday evening. I am absoultely devestated. She was such a great person and I am so angry that she has been taken away from us at such a young age, she was 33. She will be missed greatly.

I found out yesterday that Lloyds TSB have increased their aprs so I rang them to complain and to find out why. Funnily enough they could not give me an answer, so I asked them to reduce my credit limit to just above what I have on that card so I am not tempted to use it.:j
