AAGGGHHHH Banks and snooty CSA's

I have just come off the phone to Lloyds TSB for 40 mins of being passed from pillar to post, back again, from cardiff and eneded up in my branch !!

All i requested was a refund of a £30 fee for gount £32 overdrawn for 1 day. TYhem blasted asda petrol stations that take £1 from your account instead of the whole amount and you forget !

Well Mr MSH we refunded a fee in December for you, we cant do any more, let me pass you on and on and on... Ended up with the snootiest CSA in the bleeding branch who hhhmmmmm and aaahhhh at me and said well, ill tell a supervisor and see what we can do.

£30 is 5 Hours work for me, I am going to battle this one... I have always taken the fees on the chin if they are warranted... however this one isnt and im blazing !

Sorry to go on... needed to share my anger ! You try sort things out and then bam ! do they not realise that for some people £30 is nearly a days work !

I would, But im worried that they insist on closing my account as i no longet would agree to T&C's.... credit record not too healthy for a new account with a decent debit card you see !

Still waiting for the call back from the supervisor!

Well I feel like I'm about to start a long, drawn out 'conversation' with Lloyds about them scamming me. Their recent offer of £50 for switching your account caught my eye in May so I transferred. Figured it was just as easy for me to switch my salary myself than it was to fill in the "enter all your detail here and we'll switch everything over for you section"...I can access my employers payroll system on line and make the change in a fefw seconds. However I specifically checked with the guy in the branch that this would not disqualify me from the £50 offer.

So two months later I call to find out why the £50 hasn't been credited to my account only to be told that it only applies to new applicants going through the "account transfer unit".

Me: "erm, I asked about this about in the branch and the chap said it would be ok to do it myself."

Lloyds: "No sir, they have to go through the account switching unit to qualify"

Me :"But I asked about this specifically, and was told it was not a problem"

Lloyds: "No sir, they have to go through the account switching unit to qualify"

Me: "You're not listening. I was told the exact opposite at the branch."

Lloyds: "No sir, they have to go through the account switching unit to qualify"

Seriously...exactly the same response, three times in a row. She could not be arsed to even consider my point of view and just rolled off the company line again and again.

So a written complaint is off to Lloyds...financial ombudsman form is already filled out and ready to respond if Lloyds respond in the negative.

It really does seem that Lloyds have successfully poached me from Barclays, but at the same time given me advice which has made me apply in a way which renders the £50 offer null and void

    Bring it on...!!
