Did i do right

STARTED MY DMP TODAY (WHOOOOOPEE) BEST THING I EVER DID.HAD FEW NIGHTS SLEEP SINCE DECIDING TO DO SO!
ALL OUR DEBTS ARE IN MY NAME SO REMOVED MY NAME FROM JOINT ACC JUST PAY IN MY WAGES.MOST IS MY RESPONSIBILITY DUE TO GAMBLING / EXCESSIVE SPENDING/ MADCAP IDEAS/.
DUE TO PAYDAY LOANS ETC I HAD TO SIT UP THROUGH THE NIGHT AWAITING WAGES GOING IN( DONT LAUGH) paid dmp, paid all household bills outstanding, even paid tv licence (gee have i had a lbm ) at least my wife is happy today .Got a couple of hundred quid to do us ,but we will manage as my wife is now in control .I havent felt this good in years and my wife came home at teatime and brought me in some booze so at least i am not getting grief( ha ha).Been reading advice for about six weeks and cannot stress how much this has guided me into realisation.looking forward to debt free in 38 months (£11005) .i appreciate that my worries are not as bad as some but hey it has cost me my hair and my nerves.
this aint an excuse but my wife and i lost our parents in a 4 month period recently and had to pay for 2 of the funerals so this had an affect on us.
Thanks for listening:D:o

    Hi Gee

So did it work? you got the money transferred out before the payday loans hit? and did your bank let them through or refuse them?
Its obviously far from an ideal way of dealing with things but at least you got the money out to be able to live this month!

Well look on the bright side - if you've lost your hair from stress of your finances
    it saves on buying shampoo!

Sorry to hear about you and OHs recent losses, one beravement is hard but so many so close is really tough, and totally understandable that finances were not your main priority then.

    Hope the DMP runs smoothly.

Sorry Gee, i was thinking more for the payday loans. If your income is with another bank then they can't take payment from the account. Not sure what charges may apply though. Or are the payday loans part of the DMP now?

Technically all debts should have been included in the DMP, but if you have savings of 6120 and a debt with them of 6300, i guess they just about cancel each other out.

I take it you haven't been able to make reduced settlement offers to the creditors?
