Had a visit from today from a mortgage comapany called Carrington Carr? It was after searching for a low mortgage rate online I thought I was going to go through to page where I got quotes but instead got a call from these people. They came to the house which was great, although it was more of a sales call then help on my mortgage. They also charge a 2.7% fee which I though was really high? My mortgage is around 140k so that means I will have to pay £3780 haha... As if!!!! For what????
Has anyone else had them around to your house?

Yes, we had an advisor from Carrington Carr around last night (wed). We did not get as far as talking real money.
At the end of over two and a half hours (we didn't rush things and the discussion/interview was fine) we were told we needed to arrange another meeting "within the next 7 days" to discuss the options available after the advisor had been away and found the best deals. We were offered friday at 3pm. My partner couldn't afford that time since she had to prepare a presentation for a job interview on Monday- friday afternoon was about the only free time she had to do this. It's also the time one of us picks up the kids from school. (both of us had to be there-apparantly)
The advisor reluctantly agreed he might be able to make it "very early friday morning" which again hey- we've both got full time jobs and kids to take to school. It's pretty short notice to take time off (probably an hour or two) - any chance of next week? No I'm all booked up Monday Tuesday- end of next week will be second meetings from early part of next week..and anyway.... we were told "It is against FSA rules for me (the advisor) to wait longer than 7 days before the next meeting" Still quite shocked.
OK, you or your telephone meeting booking person should have told us that when booking the first meeting. Also in here somewhere the chap gave us the silent treatment and was rude to my partner by saying sarcastically "I suppose you'll be working on the presentation all weekend will you?"
At this point I stood back and ..(image of rottweiller savaging rabbit) ....afterwards I let him out saying maybe if you get a cancellation on Tuesday or Wednesday you can give us a ring.
This morning I phoned their head office to tell them I was disappointed we were unable to get a second meeting arranged, that I thought they should have told us it was necessary within 7 days when arranging the first meeting. I was told " we have never had a complaint about that before". It was explained to me that the second meeting was needed soon so the deals were still available and "not because of FSA rules". So I say "great so he lied to us about this to pressurise us- now I'm really p..ed off". I'm told that his side of the story needs to be heard..so now the guy on the phone is accusing me of making this up?
So in summary, the advisor was rude, inflexible and economical with the truth.
I was, and still am quite shocked to encounter this sort of behaviour and not helped (but in hindsight I guess I'm not surprised) by the response from head office.
I'll post again here if I get an apology but did tell them I was phoning to tell them their booking system stinks.(because hopefully if they do listen or someone reads this maybe some poor punter will save themselves a few hours where they could have been playing five-a-side football).
Had a look at forums since. Suggest you do the same if you are thinking of using these people. My experience just made me a bit wary. I have never posted on a forum before.
