Connaught Collections UK LTD

I've been dealing with 1st Credit for over 3 years over a debt. They fail to send a proper CCA and so on, so fourth - threaten me with court / people coming over.... Finally on the way to a serious monthly offer. They sent me a letter asking how much I want to pay - fill in standing order form etc and send back. I said - no. Told them that if they take £10.00 a month for duration of debt OR until I offer more money (after possible payrise / change of circumstances) and no more correspondance, I'd set up a standing order on receipt of their account details.

Instead of hearing back - I got a letter from ANOTHER compay stating they own the debt and I need to pay THEM within 7 days or face possible further action (blah blah)....

Now what?!

  • did you send all of the cca letters? ie the reminder etc...
  • Have only just received the new company's letter but couldn't remember the best way to handle them in the first instance - especially as I have an offer on the table with 1st Credit (who never actually sent me anything that was enforceable without a judge's decision!)

Wouldn't worry too much - Connaught is a part of 1st Credit. They're a bit more blunt and often throw Statutory Demands about, but can be slightly easier to negotiate with.

More bluster, but ultimately the same company.

my feeling is that if you have no idea what is actually for you should send the prove it letter, at least then they should send some details about what it is actually for
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    How do they "say"?

A bank account is not covered by the Consumer Credit Act, so there is not way in which they could provide a CCA, legal or otherwise.

    Send the SAR.
