Hey all ,
Ive just recieved a letter from HBOS regarding an old account .I thought this account had been closed down ,had never recieved any letters or calls from the bank to say there was any type of problem .The account has not been used in about 3years !but today i get aletter saying that i owe £50 ,went to the bank who said it was never shut down ,and that some direct debit had bounced back a few years ago (obviously as i wasnt using the account ,there was no money in it ) since then theyve been adding charges .
Now it has been a few years ,but i def remember going down to the bank and telling them i wanted to close the account ,however i dnt have a leg to stand on because i cant find any paperwork or even statements for this account anymore ?????????
Should i pay the £50 ,try and make a deal or fight it out ?
Not even sure if its actually the bank that has sent this or collection agency, anyone recognise the number 08456028842 ? any suggestions ?
