I went online to reserve these and my local store said they didn't have any. Called in as I was nearby and they had loads so I got three packs. Someone else was in doing the same they said they'd seen it on HDUK.

  • Reserved 2 packs of the double A batteries yesterday to pick up in store today at my local PC World. Got there to find they hadn't been reserved and staff said there was a problem with the website saying they had batteries when in fact they didn't. I was about to kick off big time as the assistant was very unhelpful and more or less said "tough" when another assistant appeared with some from somewhere else that he'd found and I got them at the on-line price so was happy, but I wouldn't trust the system again.
    It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Thanks OP, purchased some from the Watford store. Both PC World and Currys in the same retail park, so if your after a few of these you can double up at both stores if still in stock.

Went to pick up the reserved batteries from Currys, found out they didn't have any available. PC World reserved stock, no problems.

Got my reserve batteries from PC world no problem today. I checked instore and at Asda, the 12 AA plus batteries were £4.98 each. That will keep us in batteries for a while anyway. :T

Same problem with Curry's. Their stock management seems to be total carp.
