Actually - the basic reason I dont eat fish personally is because the seas are treated like open sewers.

Of myself - I would eat fish - assuming it was swimming round in clean seas. I'm angry that that isnt even an option because of all the "nasties" that would come with eating that fish - because of what it would have absorbed from the muck people/firms throw in the Ocean.

This is a thread about vegetarians and vegans though so it's pointless talking about fish...

That is like saying it is pointless talking about the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle to an omnivore: people change their views during the lifespan and I think it is important that we make an informed decision. Many vegetarians or vegans are willing to feed meat or fish to their pets (and even children), many more are not.

You specifically asked about sources for veggies and vegans, not a veggie vs meat eater source.

    Hi,

I also use ground flax seeds to get my omegas, as well as rapeseed oil in cooking.
I note a few of you say that supplements can be expensive, that is not necessary so.
I know this won't necessarily help with weezl's plan, if we go for a food source, but if supplements are the answer to save money.
I looked into this when I was going to be away from home and using ground flax seed wasn't an option. If you buy from somewhere such as Healthy Direct of Guernsey which has free postage you can buy organic vegan flax seed oil capsules 555mg (which typically converts into 300mg of ALA) and also contain 10mg of natural Vitamin E (100% RDA) for:

    180 Capsules £8.99 (3 months supply)(1p a day)
    360 Capsules £14.49 (6 months supply)(less than a penny a day!)

Hope this helps someone. Only just found this, too busy following and helping the main weezl thread!
