I don't let my daughter wear Playboy as it clearly advertises !!!!!!... not a message I think is appropriate for young vulnerable girls in today's sex obsessed society. I know this sounds heavy and people will say that it's only a bunny symbol ..... but would you let your daughter wear a swastika just because it is popular? I think that symbols carry strong messages.
I wanted my daughter to be clear that she is more than just a body to be ogled at in magazines by men and to value herself for all her attributes including her brain. If I had my way I would boycott WH Smith and others that sell this rubbish.

I totally agree with you, but i guess the OP was asking where to buy it so i guess this shouldn't start a discussion here.0 -
Hi Kimberley
I take your point - I just feel really strongly about it. I have had a long running battle with my 12 year old about it who feels that unless she has Playboy stuff she will be left out at school and parents are under so much pressure to give in.
This probably isn't an appropriate forum for a debate, but it is a serious issue for many parents especially those who have little money and want to make their kids happy. It's hard to swim against the tide when you know something isn't right and I did feel like the mother from hell...but she has had to think about the issues and I hope that when she looks back in afew years time she will understand why I was so 'rotten' to her.

I absolutely agree with you, i had a hard time with my daughter about it, but i sat her down and told her what Playboy is and she soon changed her mind. She now goes for the Pineapple stuff.0 -
You could try some of the adult shops that are in most major towns and cities.Just be careful you dont bump into deni_zen and kimberley or they might hit you with their protest banners:p0

Hi Kimberley
It's good to know that other people have the same feelings and the same hassles - my daughter now collects other stuff too. I did resent having to explain to her (at 11) what !!!!!! is tho... rather have kept that conversation until she was a bit more ready for it. Mad world!

ManAtHome wrote:Utter Bo$$ocks - I'd guess that Deni and Kimberley may just be better parents than you. Far too many "parents" are only any any good at the biological bit (aren't we all...), and don't have the guts to say NO to their kids, but quite willing to blame the "!!!!!!'s" (or even paediatricians) when it all goes horribly wrong.0
