looking after someone elses child is a bit different though, especially for me cause i'm awkward picking them up, i refused to look after Alex (tia's brother) till he was 6 months old

have no idea...she can't drive and can't get on and off buses....or on and off trains in fact she is practically housebound.

Its the first time we have spent any alone time since we were about 18. Our lives together early on in life were blighted by jealousy, parental and psychological problems. It is only the last couple of years that we have been reconciled...

I have enjoyed having my sister spend time with me and my kids because I feel like an orphan most of the time...I have been reminded I have a family......I am a little drunk and maudlin...i apologise...

Its lovely that you have been able to spend some quality time together to heal any wounds of the past. I think a lot of childhoods are like that though Sammy...I certainly spent many years either being jealous of various siblings and fighting for attention or having to listen to my mothers problems.

Is there anyway that you could have a holiday together or time on a regular basis. I know that would mean more driving for you though

Don't need to aplogise your feelings are just as important as everyone elses mwah xx

Aww fanx Elli when you have your own problems....i am moaning about mine.....well not really moaning. I love my sister but she brings back bad memories.....that sounds awful...i don't quite mean it like that.....I guess she brings up a past that i have tried to wipe....

and I am sure she has been telling my DD things that I would rather she didn't know about....

My problem is that my sister was jealous of me. she has always wanted to do what I can do and hasn't been able to . It got worse when I had children and she couldn't. My mother bullied her mericilessly and they have only just made their peace. I hate my dad, she loved him....we are total opposites and yet very similar. Now she has a !!!!!! for a husband and I want to whack him with a spade....and I worry about her future...

Sammy at least you now have a relationship with your sister that can blossom and grow and you can maybe heal the hurt from the past. Also please remember that as children you were helpless victims to family dynamics and dealt with it the best way you could. XX
