Hi recently brought a laptop and tv through additions on by now pay later with the intention of paying them off early...i made a payment to my account of £100 there is nothing on the account other than the two buy now pay later items however they have had no money deducted and i am now £100 in credit...can anyone advise why this would be?or what i'll need to do to ensure that the £100 i paid in will be dedcuted from a buy now pay later item?

  • I believe you have to contact them to tell them its for the BNPL, otherwise it will stay in credit and then when the BNPL time comes around they will still charge you interest even though you are in credit! I did the same recently, and have £50 credit, but have decided to put the resti owe in savings account till next feb then pay then.

Suggest giving them a call or emailing and ask them to take from your BNPL account - HTH!

oh dear so does that mean the £100 im in credit cannot be deducted do you think?or would there be chance of a refund so i can make sure it pays one of the bnpl items off?

I have a BNPL with Additions and although my statement balance says I am in credit when I look online I can see exactly how much I owe on the BNPL.
I've never considered I might need to give them a call, will check this out tomorrow as one of my BNPL's ends in April.

To pay for a BNPL item you have to call them so that they can target the payment towards the BNPL

If you explain there are no reasons why they shouldn't, you're not suppose to know their procedures. I only found out when I spoke to them to know what was the total cash price.
