  • I came across this post whilst preparing myself for an interview this Wednesday, for a school admin post.

Interview would be 1hr with an admin task to perform.

I would really appreciate some advice on what sort of questions to expect and an idea of what the admin task may entail.
If anyone have had similar interviews and can give some advice on this I'd be most grateful :j

    Thanks!
  • Can some clarify what SIMS is short for please?
Would it be Student Information Management System or
    School Information Management System?
    Thanks.

Google capita sims. There is a website with details and some example screens etc etc

Inbox - maybe a list of tasks/ messages to prioritise, angry parent , email, letter etc

TOP TIP. OFSTED always comes first. If they call the school you find the head teacher immediately interrupting whatever they are doing. If they are not In You get the deputy. You don't write a message on bit of paper and put it in a pile.

  • Hello,
    Thanks for your replies.
I have been offered the job!
The task I did was relatively simple:- knock up an excel spreadsheet and create a table using word.

Congrats. I saw my thread recently bumped, as I was searching for another to update that. A month or two ago I saw the position I applied for re-advertised, this time making it clear what the role was mainly for (the question I asked in 'any other questions'). I gave myself a wry smile.;) I went off to find employment elsewhere (which is why I was looking for my thread to update) having decided competence based interviews are just not my thing. :p
