Paying Golf Fee's by DD

Im intending to join a local golf course and have the opportunity to pay the fees up by DD monthly. This DD is on a Credit charge with an apr of 6.4%.
Ive had payment issues a few years ago so have 3 Defaults on my account.
My payment history is good now, however I will not be able to shift these defaults for a few years yet.
My question is, will the defaults mean that I wont be accepted for paying my golf fees by DD. Will i be declined, or are these things just a formality and as the fees are very small (£600) and for golf fees that the credit checks wont be completed??
If anyone has been through this process and can comment, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It all depends on whether a third party lender is involved or not.
Also nothing to say that the golf club won't run a credit check.
Golf is a game of trust and integrity and it may well be deemed by some that those who do not honour their credit agreements and get defaults are not worthy of the game.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Its unlikely but possible that credit checks will be made,in cases like this the 6.4% apr is just to cover cost of extending you credit, and after all if you miss a payment they can always withdraw your membership.0

My golf club does the same offers monthly payments but add a wee bit extra on for the time to sort it all out over the price if to make a one off payment. They just do direct debits etc very doubt they do credit search well my club never and they need to inform you about this aswell.0

Thanks for the responses, it seems highly unlikely that they will do a credit check then.
Again if anyone knows different please let me know.0 -
I have received the form for my fee's and its through Fairway Credit.
Has anybody had dealings with fairway credit?
There is no mention of a credit search on the form/on their website. Does anyone know that for definite, they do not do a credit check?
Thanks0 -

If they are carrying out a credit search then they should tell you.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
