I never wore maternity clothes when i was expecting. I had black elasticated trousers and loose tops from normal clothes shops.
I didnt change my wardrobe at all and i was huge!!!

I luckily, got 2 pairs of mat jeans from mothercare on sale at £14 each, the exact same. Probably about this time last year so have a check. I lived in those two pairs by day and changed into baggy joggers at night.
Asda have a great range online, my store never had any in store. I wore a lot of large vest tops under normal stretchy tops.
Peacocks have a lot of sales and their mat range is cheap, I got a few tops from there.
Oh and as for bras I stuck to asda £4 padded underwired ones cos lets just say, the little soldiers were standing to attention 24 hours a day :rotfl: Plus, I wasn't for giving up my wires, so long as they fit correctly and don't press on breast tissue they are fine to wear. I did end up with a few different sizes and often had to change to a different size art way through the day.0 -
Don't forget to use Freegle/Freecycle for any baby stuff you might need.
My attitude is if you don't ask you don't get and many people don't want the hassle of trying to get rid of some bulky baby stuff.
There is also a second hand site called www.preloved.co.uk - you could try there for any maternity clothes or baby stuff.
I've personally never been to one of these but a couple of my friends have and they swear by them - NCT nearly new sales http://www.nct.org.uk/in-your-area/nearly-new-sales this link allows you to find your nearest local sale.

My local M & S had maternity and nursing bras reduced to 50p yesterday. Might be worth having a look in your local one.0

Oh no I really feel for you! Try Ebay I bought and sold all of mine on there some real bargains to be had.. plus you can sell them against once you have finished and make your money back. Same for baby things too!Lalaladybird wrote: »I feel so miserable... I can't afford to buy any maternity stuff because money is so tight. I'm in the 2nd trimester and have one pair of torn maternity trousers and one pair of holey maternity tracky bottoms and 2 maternity bras from my first pregnancy, the bras are too small so my boobs are getting sore. I've been online but everything seems so expensive. I look like a pregnant tramp!:(0

Hey hun really the trick is to just keep hunting, I didnt have much money early on but after a bonus at work went and bought 2 pairs of sale jeans from mothercare, but by 20 something weeks I was out of them and ended up buying yoga pants from peacocks, and tbh wish now I hadnt bothered with the jeans! The yoga pants are uber comfy and can be dressed up or down. Ive gotten away with wearing alot of my baggier clothes throught PG and top wise have only bought sale bits, a 2 pack of mat vests in asda at £3 and a 2 pack of long sleeve V neck t's also in the sale at mothercare for £4. There are some fab bits around in the sales atm, so just have a good nosey around, but as the others say it doesnt have to be maternity and freecycle is fab
Am off to buy Nursing bras today and dreading it cos am pretty skint! Hope I can find some bargains. Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Well if you can't afford a few quid for some maternity clothes, good luck giving a child a secure upbringing.0
