Can't afford maternity wear!

I feel so miserable... I can't afford to buy any maternity stuff because money is so tight. I'm in the 2nd trimester and have one pair of torn maternity trousers and one pair of holey maternity tracky bottoms and 2 maternity bras from my first pregnancy, the bras are too small so my boobs are getting sore. I've been online but everything seems so expensive. I look like a pregnant tramp!:(

What size are you? Try freecycle. They give clothes away for free.
Or if you are size 10 I have some ones that don't fit me.What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Have you tried ebay or charity shops, many people splash out on loads of maternity wear that gets very little use per item and obviously is only needed for 6ish months so I'm sure theres loads of almost new stuff at a fraction of the new cost!0

I was going to say freecycle...always seeing maternity stuff on there. Or e-bay usually have some bargains.0

That is really kind of you to offer but sadly I'm a bit bigger than that
I will try freecycle though!
And charity shops!0 -
at 25 weeks you can get the health in pregnncy grant. it's a one off payment that goes into back account and can be spent on anything. are you near that or not?0

If the bras are too tight across the back, you can buy some bra extenders from any cloth/sewing shop for a quid or so.
Also, keep a close eye on the Mothercare shops, they often have a bargain bucket of random size maternity bras for a couple of quid each (or they did a couple of years ago when I was pregnant!)
Freecycle takes a bit of getting used to if you've not used it before, stick with it though as it is an amazing resource for free things!0 -
Quite a few people have said they bought bigger size t-shirts and leggings.. apparently the Asda cheapy ones are good.. and affordable.. might be worth just looking.. even if you only wear them in the house it has to be better than nothing?
If you ask local charity shops they are usually very happy to keep an eye out for maternity stuff for you and give you a ring if they get any in..
Try a few parenting sites too.. they often have resale sections where people sell stuff they no longer need/fit into and often it is very very cheap and in great condition!.. excellent places to source stuff if you are bigger/smaller than the 'average' person too ..

What size are you? Myself and many other mse'ers have maternity wear. If I have something in your size, I am more than willing to send it to you. I have a couple of boxes in my loft full of it and it's not going to get anymore use. x0

My daughter has just bought some of the Asda maternity leggings, £6 a pair and they are great, they helped her out as she is pretty skint as well. They look fine, not cheapy looking at all. They also do plain Tshirt for men sometimes at £2 a throw. At least you would be comfy!
Next time you go to the supermarket have a look at the little cards they normally have advertising things, you sometimes have someone getting rid of a whole bunch of maternity stuff in one load.
Also we have free ads in our local free paper where things sometimes go really cheap.
But I would second freecycle, it does take a bit of getting used to but well worth it. You will be able to get no end of baby stuff for when little one is here as well.
Good luck!Quite a few people have said they bought bigger size t-shirts and leggings.. apparently the Asda cheapy ones are good.. and affordable.. might be worth just looking.. even if you only wear them in the house it has to be better than nothing?
