After reading through quite a few of these threads I have noticed a lot of mortgages applications which have been declined. Probably why you are on here. In particular I have noted that Nationwide keeps coming up. All those £99 fees they are collecting
I am a member of the Nationwide refusal club on a 70% LTV and a multiple of 2.2 joint income.
I would be interested if we can get an indication as to which lenders are turning down apps as an unofficial survey, are these lenders offering good rates to appear on the best tables and apparently be in the market but not actually lending.
Thanks

I am also interested in this
We purchased our first home with Northen Rock 110% mortgage in 2007 2yr fixed had no problem getting the mortgage at all.
We have since tried to remortgage with Lloyds paid £100 booking fee only to be declined.
We then went to Yorkshire bank 90% ltv no booking/valuations fees and was accepted no problem0 -
Welcome to 2010!
I was talking to a broker friend just this week who said that lenders have got better although they are still tight. Valuations are becoming a little less of a problem also.
I do think we have to accept that times have changed and that we will be refused lending and we wont be able to bend the rules or get silly income multiplers."Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Thomas Jefferson

I agree times have changed but I am concerned about the AIPs being accepted with full credit checks and then being thrown out at application.
I think these dual credit checks are unnecessary.0 -

Maybe you do think it is unnecessary BUT it is not YOUR money that is being lent out and YOU don't make the rules.0 -

You will probably find that in some cases it will involve information that has been provided by the National Hunters Limited0
